Distributors choose Maximus diagnostic tablet as top tool.

Voting has ended in the second annual Distributor’s Choice awards, which highlights products from Matco Tools’ suppliers that have made an impact in the automotive industry. Matco Tools’ distributors have chosen the newly launched Maximus diagnostic tablet as this year’s award winner. Maximus was followed by Jaltest’s heavy duty diagnostic equipment in second place, and the full-coverage C-Reader Pro code scanner in third place.

Matco Tools created the award to highlight products that have made advancements in the areas of functional design and construction, while providing a true innovative solution for Matco’s customers.

The winning products were chosen by more than 950 distributors that attended the 2013 Matco Tools Expo, which was held this past weekend at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, Calif. The top three choices were among more than 229 new products displayed at the expo, 72 of which were exclusive to the Matco brand.

“Our distributors are the best judges for this award because they understand the needs of the automotive industry, and know which tools will be successful in the market,” said John Green, vice president of marketing and ecommerce for Matco Tools. “Maximus provides a true tablet experience complete with industry-leading features, and we are pleased that it has been recognized as a leader with our distributors.”

Matco’s Maximus has been desiged to be the fastest scan tool, from diagnostics to repair, right at the vehicle. Running on Windows® 7, multiple applications can be utilized simultaneously at blazing speeds on the 9.7” touch screen. Distributors can use Bluetooth to connect to vehicle diagnostics, view graphs, and record PID data, all while using wireless to gather repair information from the web with flawless connectivity. Maximus is also compatible with optional enhancements, including a 4-channel Lab Scope, Sensor Simulator, J2534 Passthru Device and Battery Tester. Also included is a free 30-day trial of Indentifix® Direct-Hit®, which notifies the technician of vehicle specific repair information and known fixes automatically, right on the screen.

The CReader Pro 123 Model is designed for technicians to diagnose engine, transmission, ABS and airbag (SRS) systems. It features an intuitive interface and supports the latest OBDII test modes 1-10. Jaltest is a communications interface and diagnostic tool that connects the PC to the vehicle ECMs for heavy and medium duty commercial vehicle uses.
