IMI has introduced Equal W, a new size of balancer and noise dampener specifically designed for easy installation in wide base tires.
According to the company, Equal helps commercial trucking fleets save fuel and improve tire wear, increasing profitability. Equal W allows fleets running wide base tires to easily benefit from the same fuel and tire savings.
Some fleets use wide base tires to achieve weight reduction and potential fuel savings of 2 to 3 percent. Equal provides similar benefits by saving fleets 2 percent in fuel economy by continuously balancing the entire wheel end when used in all wheel positions.
Equal W is easy for fleets to install in wide base tires. Simply drop a bag in a wide base tire during the mounting process. By continuously balancing, Equal also reduces irregular wear patterns that can cause premature tire takeoff.
