Tech Tip: The functions of multi-function worklights

June 11, 2020
Perform a more thorough inspection with ultra-bright lights that also can provide color matching and leak detection.

Today’s multi-function worklights can do it all. Not only can they be used for diagnostic and repair jobs, but they also can help technicians better see the color spectrum or to aid in leak detection. For example, the Streamlight Syclone features a spot beam for bright area illumination, as well as a flood mode that uses a High Color Rendering Index (CRI) LED for identifying color differences in wiring or for color matching paint in detailing and painting jobs. Other models also provide a UV mode for spotting A/C and fluid leaks under the hood, dashboard, and undercarriage of today’s solidly packed vehicles.
