    The A.S.T. Training EV Detective Kit allows a professional technician to quickly rule out an issue with the charger by simply plugging it into box one and looking for the green light to illuminate, then sampling the L1 and L2 voltages. Once the charger is ruled out, they can plug box two into the port on the vehicle as well as plug the charger into box two. This breakout box allows them to test the control pilot’s handshake with the vehicle to allow them to sample the CP, L1, L2, and ground circuitry. According to the company, this removes the need to disassemble the vehicle to access the OBC wiring, saving time and money while keeping the technician safe.
