The SP Tools Universal 3 Leg Fuel Pump Spanner Wrench, No. T1701, is designed to aid in removing and installing of the fuel pump’s retaining ring that holds the fuel pump module onto the gas tank. The adjustable drive (spanning 3.6” to 6.8”) has a sturdy three-leg design that can be firmly placed on the retainer. Driving the fastener from three points, with all three legs moving in unison, reduces the possibility of slipping or damaging the retainer. It is capable of gripping both internal and external retainers, and the universal design fits most plastic retainers used on modern vehicles. The T1701 tool reduces the risk of damaging any components that are being serviced, the company says.
