PSA presents ContiTech Anoflex with supplier award
ContiTech has reinforced its strong position as a strategic partner of the French PSA Peugeot Citroën Group. Hose specialist ContiTech Anoflex S.A.S. from Caluire (near Lyon) has now received a "Supplier Award 2013".
Member of the Continental Executive Board Heinz-Gerhard Wente personally received the award from PSA Chairman Philippe Varin and Yannick Bézard, Purchasing Director of PSA. "The supplier award is a particularly important award for us as it reinforces our position as a strategic PSA supplier and strengthens us economically as well," says Heinz-Gerhard Wente, who is also Chairman of the Executive Board of ContiTech AG.
PSA is France's leading automotive supplier and manufactures 40% of its vehicles in France. In the process, the company gives preference to local sourcing. More than 50% of supplies to the French vehicle production plants come from France. "Thanks to our sites in France, we are able to support this course," says Virginie Perol, Key Account Manager for PSA at ContiTech in Caluire – a site that primarily manufactures oil lines for turbochargers used in PSA's gasoline and diesel engines. In addition, ContiTech operates a site for molded brake components in Andrézieux, France (Rhône-Alpes region).
PSA conferred the award in eight categories. ContiTech came out on top in the Industrial Excellence category representing exceptional achievements in quality, logistics, and the continuous improvement of industrial processes. "The award came as no surprise to me. After all, the quality and logistics services of ContiTech Anoflex set standards. This gives the site a bright future," said PSA Purchasing Director Yannick Bézard when handing over the award. Two years ago, ContiTech and PSA together began to optimize processes in their collaboration. "This makes our collaboration particularly efficient and has now paid off," says Joël Ripamonti, Site Manager in Caluire.
