Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance adds two new members
The Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance (The Alliance) announces the addition of MotorPro (Motorpro S A de C V) of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, México, and Western Automotive Warehouse Distributors (WAWD) of Denver, as new members of their group, effective Jan. 1, 2014. Both members join as the newest Bumper to Bumper shareholders.
MotorPro, founded in 1970, is the largest full-line distributor in Juarez and also operate a satellite facility in the city of Chihuahua. They serve independent jobbers in both markets and are the primary supplier of parts to a large, 20 outlet store chain in Juarez. MotorPro is led by Juan Carlos and Ivan Elizondo.
Western Automotive Warehouse Distributors (WAWD) is a relatively new company, with a long and successful history. Over the past few years, owner Rob Johnson successfully pulled together his Clutch Doctor operation with Rick Yancey's Import Auto Parts business. Then, earlier this year, the combined entity bought Import Parts Warehouse (IPW) and changed the name of the new organization to WAWD. Collectively, the three former units have been successfully serving customers in the Denver market and along the I-25 corridor for more than 20 years. Now, as WAWD, they are positioned for significant growth and product line expansion.
"We couldn't be more pleased with the opportunity to join such a prestigious group as The Alliance," stated MotorPro's Juan Carlos Elizondo. "With their help and well-recognized brands, our future looks very bright and our expansion plans for the city of Juarez and across the border into El Paso are on target."
"It is quite an honor to be joining a group like The Alliance. Obviously, with all that we've done to build our company to what it is today, we are now well positioned to leverage their buying power and implement their first-class marketing and technology programs to the fullest extent, which will be key factors in driving our continued growth," said WAWD President Rob Johnson.
"We are very happy to have these additions as our newest Bumper to Bumper shareholder members," stated John R. Washbish, President and CEO of The Alliance. “Both companies are led by young, dynamic and talented people and they serve two markets that we had no presence in. In addition, they are both well-managed and poised for growth. It's exciting to be bringing them on board and growing our membership and market footprint."
