Uni-Select Inc. announced the opening of its new Regional Distribution Center (RDC) in the Washington, D.C. area.

The new warehouse contains more than 120,000 square feet of distribution space. It will provide greater product range and availability and improved accuracy with our SAP warehouse management system. More than 40 new jobs were created to staff the facility, which will service Uni-Select’s customers in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Southern Pennsylvania. Customers in this region will have access to more than $8 million of inventory available on a next day basis.

The opening of this new location is part of the Corporation’s Action Plan unveiled on July 11, 2013, which was aimed at improving performance and delivering higher service rates. With this new warehouse, Uni-Select said it will consolidate the region’s distribution activities, improve its product availability and deliver a higher level of service to its customers in the region.

"We are very pleased to offer this new highly efficient distribution center to our customers and employees. All initiatives included in our Action Plan aim to increase customer service, efficiency and profitability. We are pleased with our progress to date, and the opening of this large warehouse will certainly enhance growth in the United States,” said Richard G. Roy, President and Chief Executive Officer of Uni-Select.
