Third 2014 victory for Kyle Busch and Raybestos Brakes
March 24, 2014
Tire issues created a struggle of survival during the final laps of Sunday’s Auto Club 400. In the end, it was the battle of the Kyles... but Kyle Busch held off rookie Kyle Larson and scored his first 2014 Sprint Cup victory at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif. Busch earned his 29th Sprint Cup win under the stopping power of Raybestos brakes.
“Kyle was really fast all day, but it was his focus that triumphed in the end,” said Dave Rogers, Crew Chief of Busch’s No. 18 Interstate Batteries Toyota. “Strategic braking and tactical driving helped him maneuver past Larson for an incredible win.”
The Raybestos Racing brake package, used by NASCAR® teams like Joe Gibbs Racing, combines ample stopping power with a considerable weight savings advantage on short tracks like the Auto Club Speedway’s 2-mile D-shaped oval track.
Raybestos racing brake pads are the ultimate high-friction, high-torque racing pads. The famous Raybestos “ST” series racing compounds provide superior stopping power for championship-caliber race teams.
Raybestos Racing calipers make up the strongest and lightest caliper package currently available in all of NASCAR. They have an optimized structure caliper architecture design and a mono-block aluminum alloy construction. They also include integral crossover cooling and progressively sized titanium pistons.
Raybestos Racing two-piece rotors are engineered to withstand the high-heat torture of short tracks and road courses; delivering the effective lightweight operation required for qualifying and superspeedway runs. Winning features include an S-groove slot design, a racing-specific vane configuration and optimized metallurgy.
The lessons learned on tracks like Fontana are continually translated into product improvements across the entire Raybestos product line, which includes racing, street performance, police patrol/pursuit vehicles and heavy-duty trucks.
