Arnott, the industry leader in aftermarket air suspension products, has introduced new Arnott-engineered rear shocks and new remanufactured rear shocks for various Mercedes-Benz® vehicle applications.
The two new Arnott-engineered, rear shocks are designed for 2006-2013 Mercedes-Benz R-Class applications with and without ADS (Adaptive Damping System). SK-3217 is for Mercedes-Benz R-Class (W251 chassis) vehicles with ADS excluding AMG models while SK-3218 covers R-Class 4MATIC® and rear wheel drive (RWD) models without AIRMATIC. Both include custom-valved twin tube shock dampers which adapt to the drivers’ style providing an excellent ride. The thoroughly road-tested shocks are assembled in the U.S. and include new top and bottom mounts, a new polyurethane bump stop and protective dust boot. SK-3217 bypasses the often-problematic ADS system by incorporating a custom-valved shock and includes a coil resister which plugs in to the vehicle’s electrical system to eliminate any suspension dashboard warning lights. Both new R-Class rear shocks require no core deposit and are backed by a limited lifetime warranty in North America. Arnott has also released SK-3197, an Arnott remanufactured O.E. rear shock absorber with active damping functionality for the left or right side of the 2003-2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W211) and 2005-2011 CLS-Class (W219 chassis) both with ADS. In addition, SK-3268, is an Arnott remanufactured O.E. rear shock absorber with active damping functionality for the left or right side of the 2013-2018 GL/GLS-Class (X166 chassis) and 2012-2018 ML/GLE-Class (W166 chassis) applications with ADS. Arnott inspects, steam cleans, and spin blasts the O.E. shock to bare metal before it is recharged with new high-performance shock oil. Worn components, such as the piston, rod guides and seal pack are replaced before being repainted with corrosion inhibiting paint. The shock and damping coil are computer tested to assure O.E. performance and active damping functionality. Arnott remanufactures and assembles both shocks (SK-3197 and SK-3268) in the U.S. and backs them with a limited lifetime warranty in North America.
