The Auto Care Association last week announced major enhancements to its TrendLens interactive data platform. Regional views of data for both economic and industry data are now available to TrendLens and Demand Index users, providing more ways for the platform’s users to visualize and analyze the latest data for better business insights. The addition of nine new product data groups will also be added to the Demand Index tool next month.

“We are always gathering feedback to evolve our tool in ways that help our members evaluate fluctuations, trends and patterns to ultimately make better business decisions,” said Bill Hanvey, president and CEO, Auto Care Association. “The new enhancements we’re rolling out in 2022, including the regional view of data, further add to the value we’re bringing to our members and the industry through our one-of-a-kind TrendLens platform.”

“It’s not just the data, it’s how the tool allows you to visualize the data,” said Michael Chung, director, market intelligence, Auto Care Association. “You can quickly mix and match data sets, adjust windows of time, and now drill down to a regional view.”

TrendLens Market View

The TrendLens Market View package provides access to the new regional view feature. With the Market View package, users can view data regionally for Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) data by Arity in addition to key economic and industry data. Regional views of data include:

  • Gasoline, Producer Prices
  • Gasoline Prime Supplier Sales
  • Diesel Fuel, Producer Prices
  • Diesel Fuel Prime Supplier Sales
  • New Vehicles, Consumer Price
  • Used Vehicles, Consumer Price
  • Average Temperature
  • Average Temperature Deviation
  • Housing Starts
  • Unemployment Rate
  • Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) U.S. Department of Transportation
  • Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) Arity

The regional data view for Arity VMT, economic and industry data, and Demand Index product group data is available now and follows the four continental United States census tracts.

Aftermarket industry manufacturers subscribed to the Demand Index tool can make their data work harder with automatic access to the new regional through their product group subscription. This major update allows manufacturer users to view dollar and sales information on a regional basis and to track down trends and differences in data due to weather, travel restrictions and more. TrendLens data can also be combined with regional economic and industry data like miles driven and temperature deviation when you subscribe to the TrendLens Market View package.

Nine New Demand Index Data Product Categories The Demand Index, housed on the TrendLens platform, enables aftermarket companies to see how their products are performing against the market with the only tool that provides hard part and other parts performance data from point of sales transactions. The Demand Index tool will expand in early 2022 to include nine new product categories. With nearly 80 product categories of data currently available in the Demand Index, the Demand Index coverage of aftermarket unit and dollar sales is unrivaled.
