The PBT USA Stretch Fit Belt Kit, No. 70990, provides coverage for all vehicles equipped with stretch fit belts. This patented tool kit contains two tools: a universal installation tool and a universal removal tool. The installation tool suits all vehicles equipped with stretch fit belts and does not require adjustment to use. The removal tool allows the technician the ability to easily remove and reuse a stretch fit belt that doesn’t require replacement. An instructional DVD is included in the kit, along with a vacuum formed tray for easy storage of both tools.

Origin
Vehicle manufacturers have recently begun using stretch fit belts. These belts are used on accessory drives that don’t have a belt tensioner. Special tools are required to install stretch fit belts. Many of the tools available from the OE’s or belt manufacturers are vehicle specific. The PBT installation tool is universal so only one tool is needed.
Since there is no belt adjustment on stretch fit belt drives, the standard practice is to cut the belt to remove it. Many times belts need to be removed in order to perform other vehicle service. It is not practical to cut off good belts in this situation. The Stretch Fit Belt Kit includes a universal removal tool that allows the technician to remove and re-install the belt if replacement is not warranted.
