NAFA, in collaboration with CALSTART, encourages fleet professionals to go green with its Sustainable Fleet Accreditation Program. The program was made available to fleets during NAFA’s Institute & Expo (I&E) conference in Orlando.
“Earth Day is a terrific reminder that as leaders in the fleet industry, our members have a tremendous opportunity to positively impact our environment by reducing fuel use and harmful pollutants in our environment” said NAFA CEO Phil Russo, CAE. “The NAFA Sustainable Fleet Accreditation Program gives fleet managers the tools to reduce their carbon footprint, fleet waste stream and overall fuel consumption.”
NAFA’s Sustainable Fleet Accreditation Program provides fleets with a single, standard way to assess their real actions and progress on sustainability. The program is set to become the worldwide standard for recognizing concrete improvements in air quality through reducing emissions, increasing fuel efficiency and reducing fuel use.
The program includes tools to concretely measure emissions reduction, fuel consumption, and measuring increases in fuel efficiency. NAFA’s Sustainable Fleet Accreditation directly complements the DOE National Fleet Partnership program, and other federal efforts, by recognizing fleets for real results achieved in their sustainability efforts.
