Two matching boxes "organized to perfection"

Owner: Chad Claborn

Shop: Stenberg Auto Repair

Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Even one 72" long Snap-on KRL Master Series toolbox in lime green may be enough to turn heads, but why not make it two?

That's what Chad Claborn did. The ASE Master Technician and lead tech at Stenberg Auto Repair in Nebraska, has a pair of matching toolboxes side-by-side. The whole set up takes up 12' of wall space in the shop.

And he says every 39" deep drawer of it is "organized to perfection."

Each of the 35 drawers are dedicated to one tool type. For example, the top drawer of the first box fits Claborn's entire collection of sockets, separated using socket trays. Another has screwdrivers ordered by size. Storing tools in separate tool organizers is Claborn's trick to making storage a simple "grab and go" system.

The first half of his setup was purchased in 2013. A few years later, in 2015, Claborn added the second KRL Master Series box. To further expand his setup, Claborn says he eventually wants to buy top boxes for each KRL series boxes.

Right now, the top of one of the boxes has a metal top cabinet, decorated with brand stickers, which hold miscellaneous bulk items. Impact batteries and chargers are tucked in the space between the box and the cabinet. His laptop and Snap-on Verus scan tool have a home on the top of the second box.

Claborn has been a technician for 18 years, starting out in his home garage working on his 1969 Camaro. At Stenberg Auto, Claborn works on European, exotic and domestic vehicles of all makes and models doing regular maintenance, performance modifications and anything up to engine swaps.
