Users will be lead through a step-by-step guide and by the end, they are meant to be able to have possible solutions to the problem, or be better prepared when going to a local certified shop with some knowledge about the issue.

RepairPal.com, a car repair resource website, launched of a Symptom Guide, an online tool for people to diagnose problems with their car.

Many people are stumped when their car begins to make a strange noise or simply won't start. They may end up immediately turning to a search engine, or going straight to a mechanic for help. Sometimes this experience ends in satisfaction; however, all too often, it can be a stressful encounter. Even worse, some repairs may unknowingly be an easy fix, such as battery cables that require tightening or a gas cap that's simply come loose.

The RepairPal Symptom Guide, a new tool that will guide people in diagnosing a vehicle's issues from the comfort of a phone or computer.

Users will be lead through a step-by-step guide and by the end, they are meant to be able to have possible solutions to the problem, or be better prepared when going to a local certified shop with some knowledge about the issue.

"RepairPal is working to arm consumers with knowledge when it comes to getting their cars repaired and fix an industry not known for trust," says Jennifer Steeves-Kiss, Chief Product and Marketing Officer at RepairPal. "The Symptom Guide helps achieve this by giving people a real tool that enables them to better understand their vehicle and have a more confident experience with auto repair."
