A malfunction in the anti-lock-brake system (ABS) module may illuminate the brake lights, and allow the vehicle to start and shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied, stated NHTSA.
The vehicle may then roll away unexpectantly, increasing the risk of a crash or injury to others surrounding the vehicle.
According to NHTSA, the remedy is still under development. Owners are expected to receive letters in the mail July 29. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service by calling 1-800-853-1403. The number for this recall is Z48.
