This bulletin applies to 2014-2019 Chevy Corvettes equipped with a 6.2L LT1, LT4 or LT5 engine, regarding a concern of engine thermostat tick noise and/or running hot.
Inspect the position of the cylinder head gasket locating tabs to determine if the head gasket(s) has been possibly installed backwards. The head gasket locating tabs for both engine banks should be toward the front of the engine, closer to cylinder 3 (left bank) and cylinder 4 (right bank).
If the head gasket locating tabs are found to be closer to cylinders 5 and/or 6, the head gasket(s) have been installed incorrectly, restricting coolant flow.
Remove the affected cylinder head(s) and replace the head gaskets with new gaskets and re-torque the cylinder head bolts per the service manual.
Prior to re-installing the head(s), be sure to check the head deck(s) for potential deck warpage using a precision straightedge and feeler gauge. If a cylinder head has been warped beyond specification, the head will need to be milled if possible, or replaced.
