CAS announced that E-ZDS the software developer for G-scan released the next scheduled major software update for the G-scan family of scan tools. With this latest release, the G-scan series of tools (G-scan3, G-scan2, and G-ScanTab) will now have the ability to access FCA Secure Gateway Module equipped vehicles starting in model year 2018 through model year 2020.

“It’s great to see the FCA Secure Gateway access is included in this latest software release,” said John Jenkins president and CEO, CAS. “With G-scan also having OEM authorized access for the security access systems on all Hyundai/KIA vehicles, this has become a very powerful aftermarket scan tool.”

“I am also excited to see the release of a ‘Special Functions’ button on the main screen that presents the user with the most commonly accessed functions such as oil resets, steering angle sensor calibrations, or ADAS calibrations,” said Jenkins. “This feature will now display all common services on one page, such as all ADAS calibrations, thus saving the technician time when servicing systems using a G-Scan.”

It was noted E-ZDS has also added integrated video links in a number of areas giving the user instant access to procedural guidance videos specific to the service function of the tool they are using. The newly added vehicle coverages include a large amount of 2020 model year GM vehicles, multiple Mercedes Benz models, 2018-2020 Fiat Chrysler, and 25 other car lines. Expansion areas include diagnostics, maintenance functions, and ADAS calibrations.

CAS also made available a highlights video as well as a multi-page ‘What’s New’ PDF file for downloading.

Customers under a current subscription are encouraged to update their G-scan immediately to take advantage of all the latest additions and enhancements.
