AAPEX 2024: The new Autel IA700 Mobile Frame discussion with Scott Brown and Kevin Oliver

Dec. 12, 2024
Scott Brown and Kevin Oliver review the benefits of the Autel IA700 at the 2024 AAPEX Show.

At AAPEX 2024, Scott Brown, technical editor of Motor Age, speaks with Kevin Oliver, regional sales manager for Autel, about the Autel IA700 mobile frame. This ADAS calibration system improves efficiency, offering setup speeds up to six times faster than traditional frames. Its portable design allows it to break down into five pieces, making it easy to transport in vans or SUVs.

The system uses cameras to quickly and accurately align the frame in front of the vehicle. It also includes tools for pre-alignment checks, ensuring proper vehicle alignment before calibration. Misaligned thrust lines can lead to inaccurate results, so these checks are critical. The IA700 can compensate for floor slopes up to four degrees, addressing common challenges in mobile setups.

Optional ride height targets streamline wheel arch measurements, eliminating manual steps. A built-in diagnostic tablet adds functionality, including module programming and remote expert support, making this a versatile calibration tool.
