Motor Age Tech Tip: Don’t Overlook ADAS – Why Calibration Matters After Common Repairs

March 21, 2025
Learn how the Autel IA900 can help perform 360-camera ADAS calibrations.

ADAS calibration is a crucial step in modern automotive repair ADAS procedures, ensuring that advanced driver assistance systems function correctly. In this video, Keith Perkins demonstrates the ADAS calibration process on a 2019 Lincoln Navigator after a routine AC condenser replacement, which required a 360-camera calibration.

Using the Autel IA900 ADAS tool, Perkins walks through the step-by-step calibration process, from scanning the vehicle and identifying the image processing module B (IPMB) to setting up targets and ensuring proper calibration conditions. The vehicle fault scan and DTC clearing process are also covered, ensuring that all diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are addressed before and after calibration.

Throughout the demonstration, Perkins highlights the importance of OEM service information for ADAS, verifying calibration requirements and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
