Nineteenth GAAS to be at Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Rosemont, Ill.

The leaders of the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) have announced that the 2014 edition of the executive education program will be held Tuesday, May 20 and Wednesday, 21, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont, Ill.

"We had a very successful program this year with increased attendance and the introduction of new breakout sessions," said GAAS chairman, Denny Welvaert. "The feedback from attendees was overwhelming positive about GAAS 2013 and we are excited that the results of our efforts resulted in $211,000 in direct aid to students for scholarships."

GAAS 2013 was held May 21 to 22, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare with a final attendance of 306. Among the total attendees, 18 were from Canada, two from Brazil, one from Mexico, and one from Nigeria.

Welvaert says the GAAS planning committee is already busy planning for GAAS 2014 and notes that due to the popularity of the breakout sessions they are scheduled to be part of the program again next year.

The annual, 2-day Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium, now in its 19th year, brings together industry leaders and experts to examine the issues and trends affecting the worldwide automotive aftermarket and influencing its future. Each year the net proceeds of GAAS are invested in the organization’s scholarship fund to help students get their automotive aftermarket career started. Additional scholarship funding comes from industry contributions from individuals, companies and foundations. To date GAAS, has awarded scholarships to more than 1,700 students representing $1.7 million in aid.
