Summer fundraising is off to a great start at the University of the Aftermarket Foundation with the receipt of two substantial donations. Interstate Batteries recently contributed $10,000 and Meineke/Maaco/Driven Brands donated $5,000. Both donations will help fund the University of the Aftermarket Foundation scholarship fund.

“We want to thank both Interstate Batteries and Meineke/Macco/Driven Brands for helping us kick off our summer fundraising program. We appreciate their generosity and support of the University of the Aftermarket Foundation and we encourage other industry organizations to follow suit,” said John Washbish, secretary of the University of the Aftermarket Foundation.

Earlier this month it was announced that a record number of 131 students have been awarded scholarships from the University of the Aftermarket Foundation. The scholarship recipients are pursuing careers in the automotive aftermarket and each will receive a $1,000 scholarship to advance their education at either at two-year vocational or technical college or a four-year college or university.

“The University of the Aftermarket Foundation has just awarded more scholarships than ever before to talented young people looking to join our great industry,” said Bill Maggs, contribution committee, University of the Aftermarket Foundation. “With the help of companies like Interstate Batteries and Meineke/Maaco/Driven Brands, we can continue to expand this successful scholarship program and help train even more next-generation automotive professionals.”
