Noregon launches JPRO tech certification program

Feb. 16, 2018
Technicians can increase their skill set and earn official certification for JPRO at their own pace.

Noregon announced the launch of their JPRO certification program. The program is now available for technicians to increase their skill set and earn official certification for JPRO, a diagnostic and repair solution used by fleets, repair shops, dealerships, and the United States Military.

The certification program offers seven content modules, with each module focusing on a major aspect of JPRO’s functionality. Each module includes optional quizzes to test the user’s knowledge and prepare them for the 50-question multiple-choice final exam. Users scoring a 70 percent or better on the final exam become JPRO certified and earn a diploma, as well as patches to sew onto work uniforms.

Shane Gilliam, Noregon’s VP of Sales, discussed the decision to offer a certification program.

“Our customers consistently praise the variety of training options we have available, but ask for a tangible method to measure their technician’s abilities on the software. By offering the certification program, technicians are able to learn the ins and outs of the software and standout to employers by becoming officially certified with such a well-known and powerful tool.”

Noregon’s JPRO Product Manager and former technician, Jason Hedman, explained the benefits of becoming certified.

“For the technician it is a great way to not only build their skill set, but also enhance their resume and differentiate themselves by showcasing their proficiency with the premium diagnostic and repair solution. Technicians who use JPRO efficiently are going to perform repairs faster and more accurately than their counterparts, which directly relates to increased uptime for fleets and faster bay turn for repair facilities.”

The certification courses are officially available for the public today, but Noregon notes some major fleet customers already utilized the courses to certify their technicians. Brandon Turner, a technician with SAIA LTL Freight, praised the program saying, “I believe all of our techs, old and new, should do the training. It will help them in their ability to function and navigate through the JPRO diagnostic program. It opened my eyes to the capabilities of the program.”

Noregon noted that users are able to take the certification course on their own time, at their own pace.

For additional information, or to initiate the training process, customers should contact Noregon’s sales team at 855-889-5776, or visit https://www.noregon.com/jpro/certified/.
