Audi Brake and Throttle No-No

This bulletin applies to 2010 Audi Q7 models. The engine may lack power or will not move after a stop. The engine returns to an idle speed of about 1,400 rpm even with the accelerator pedal depressed. The condition is likely caused by the brake and accelerator pedals being depressed at the same time.

The engine returns to an idle speed of about 1,400 rpm even with the accelerator pedal depressed. The condition is likely caused by the brake and accelerator pedals being depressed at the same time.

Customers who have a habit of driving with their left foot resting on the brake pedal are prone to experience this condition.

With the introduction of EPC (electronic power control…throttle by wire) to fuel injection systems, an engine RPM control feature has been incorporated into the engine control software.

No DTCs will be stored. If the brake pedal is depressed while the accelerator pedal is depressed, after approximately two seconds, engine rpm will return to idle speed.

Tell them to stop resting their foot on the brake pedal while driving.
