Relay too Cool

Some owners of 2006-2009 Scion tC or 2008-2009 xD models may experience multiple warning lights illuminated. Also, the transmission will not shift from Park to Drive, and other accessories may become inoperative after the vehicle has cold soaked in sub freezing temperatures.

Some owners of 2006-2009 Scion tC or 2008-2009 xD models may experience multiple warning lights illuminated. Also, the transmission will not shift from Park to Drive, and other accessories may become inoperative after the vehicle has cold soaked in sub freezing temperatures.

A newly designed IG1 relay has been made available to improve this condition.

IG1 RELAY PREVIOUS P/N

90987-02025 (gray) or 90987-02030 (pink)

NEW IG1 RELAY P/N

90987-02031 (red)

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

TIS Techstream, with software version 4.00.017 or later.

1. Locate the instrument panel junction block No. 1, located in the instrument panel.

2. Remove the relay and verify the part number. If the part number of the IG1 relay is 90987-02031, then continue with diagnosis. Otherwise, replace the relay with the revised part number.

3. Connect TIS Techstream and clear any stored DTCs.
