Mazda Misfire

This bulletin applies to 2005-2006 Mazda tribute models. Some vehicles may intermittently exhibit the MIL on or flashing, with DTCs P0316, _0300, P0301, P0302, P0303 or P0304. This condition may be due to the PCM ignition profile being incorrectly set if the battery was recently disconnected or discharged.

This bulletin applies to 2005-2006 Mazda Tribute models. Some vehicles may intermittently exhibit the MIL on or flashing, with DTCs P0316, _0300, P0301, P0302, P0303 or P0304. This condition may be due to the PCM ignition profile being incorrectly set if the battery was recently disconnected or discharged.

1. Verify the concern.

2. Reset the PCM ignition profile by clearing the PCM KAM (Keep Alive memory) by disconnecting the battery for 10-15 minutes.

3, After clearing KAM, perform three consecutive decelerations from 60 to 40 mph without applying the brakes. If the concern reoccurs after resetting the PCM ignition profile, refer to DTC diagnostics in the workshop manual.
