If a customer with a manual-transmission equipped Honda vehicle (2013 Fit is an example) complains about stiff shifting or popping out of gear, chances are the transmission has old Honda MTF or aftermarket MTF.

If a customer with a manual-transmission equipped Honda vehicle (2013 Fit is an example) complains about stiff shifting or popping out of gear, chances are the transmission has old Honda MTF or aftermarket MTF.

Try draining the MTF and replacing it with new Honda Genuine MTF (P/N 08798-9031). The new MTF is said to offer better overall shift quality especially in freezing temperatures, with better friction reduction.

After filling with new MTF, take a 10-minute test drive with plenty of shifting.
