This bulletin applies to 2016-2017 Volkswagen Tiguan vehicles equipped with a 2.0L engine. If DTC P0011 (camshaft position Bank 1 timing over-advanced or system performance) or P0016 (crankshaft position-camshaft position correlation bank 1 sensor A) is found, and the engine runs rough at idle, inspect the condition of the camshaft bearing bridge. Remove the camshaft bearing bridge according to the repair manual. Check the camshaft side of the bearing bridge for damage (groove in bearing surface or lip protruding from the bearing surface). If damaged, replace the bearing bridge. Be sure to change the engine oil and filter after repairs.
