Some 2020 Lincoln Aviator/Police Interceptor Utility vehicles built on or before July 15, 2019, may exhibit an illuminated ABS warning lamp, with DTC C0020 stored in the ABS module.

It may not be necessary to replace the ABS module/hydraulic control unit to resolve the issue. The concern may be due to a poor ground connection and/or improper plating on the attachment bolts at G108.

Remove the body control module C (BCMC). Refer to the workshop manual section 419-10. Remove the bolts, detach the wiring retainers and remove the BCMC support bracket. Remove and discard the fasteners for ground G108.

Make sure that no shrink tube adhesive is interfering with the fastener clamping force or ground path through the fasteners. Clean as needed with a razor blade. Do not remove any paint from the body, as the ground path conduction is through the bolt threads.

Tighten the new fasteners securing the ground cables at 106 in.-lbs. Apply Motorcraft electrical grease to the fastener and ground cable eyelet. Reassemble and clear DTCs from the ABS module.
