Fixing Jeep Transmission Sensor

Owners of 2016-2017 Jeep Compass and Patriot may be having MIL problems and should look at the vehicles DTCs. 

This bulletin applies to 2016-2017 Jeep Compass and Patriot vehicles built on or after June 20, 2016 and on or before March 31, 2017, and equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission. Customers may experience an on MIL. The following DTCs may be stored:

  • P0705-00 (transmission range sensor A circuit (PRNDL input)

  • P0706-00 (transmission range sensor performance)

Customers may also note that they experience a no-crank or no-start condition.

Replace the TRS (transmission range sensor) with P/N 68273120AA and clear all DTCs.
