JLR is experiencing a higher warranty cost than expected for High Voltage Junction Boxes (HVJBs) due to incorrect diagnosis. A customer may report that the High Voltage (HV) battery will not charge when the charging cable is connected to the vehicle. During diagnosis using TOPlx Cloud, the following DTCs may be detected:
U019B-87 stored in the PCM and U0064-87 stored in the Battery Energy Control Module (BECM). The cause relates to software or electrical wiring continuity. The following steps must be completed prior to renewing the HVJB:
1. Refer to the relevant TOPix workshop manual diagnosis and testing/helptext sections for further guidance. Make sure to repair any damaged wiring harnesses as necessary before continuing.
2. Disconnect the 12V start-up battery positive and negative leads for a period of 10 minute and then reconnect.
3. Check the integrity of the HVJB box fuse.
4. Make sure that the BCCM and BECM are at the latest software levels.
