This bulletin applies to 2010-2017 Chevy Caprice PPV vehicles as well as all other GM vehicles equipped with Active Safety Side Object Detection. 

This bulletin applies to 2010-2017 Chevy Caprice PPV vehicles as well as all other GM vehicles equipped with Active Safety Side Object Detection. Some customers may comment that the “Side Object Detection System Disabled” message appears in the driver information center. When this condition occurs, the vehicle is typically being driven in open area locations where there is insufficient data for operation. The system is actually designed to become disabled under certain conditions. No service is required.
