Upgrade Subaru Stop Lamp Switch to Quiet Brakes

This bulletin applies to 2008-2011 Subaru Impreza 5-door, 2008-2014 Impreza/WRX, 2015-2019 WRX, 2017-2018 Forester and 2013-2019 BRZ vehicles equipped with LED type rear combination lamps.

Examples of the old vs new stop lamp switches. The new switches are easily identified by a brownish-colored harness connection socket as opposed to the previous black sockets.

This bulletin applies to 2008-2011 Subaru Impreza 5-door, 2008-2014 Impreza/WRX, 2015-2019 WRX, 2017-2018 Forester and 2013-2019 BRZ vehicles equipped with LED type rear combination lamps. The customer may complain about a rasping sound when applying the brakes. A new stop lamp switch is now available to address this concern. Additional grease and a change to the plating process used on some of the internal components were changes made to address the rasping type sound.

The new/revised stop lamp switch part numbers are as follows:

Impreza and Forester..........83311FG001

WRX and BRZ.....................83311CA001
