Owners of 2012-2013 Mazda3, 2014 Mazda6 and 2013-2014 CX-5 vehicles may complain about a check engine light and A/T warning light on when starting the engine. At the same time, an engine inspection required message is displayed on the LCD. DTC P0722:00 is stored in the TCM memory (open circuit in output speed shaft circuit). The TCM control logic has been changed to eliminate this concern.

Conform Snapshot Data by Self Rest function using Mazda Module Diagnostic system (M-MDS). If TSS is more than 1500 rpm and OSS is zero rpm, reboot the IDS to clear memory before reprogramming.

Using IDS 95.04 or later software, reprogram the TCM to the latest calibration by following the Module Reprogramming procedure. After reprogramming is complete, perform the Initial Learning Procedure. Refer to MS3 online instructions or workshop manual section 05-17.
