Fixing No Start Issue on Cab Chassis Trucks

This bulletin applies to 2016-2018 RAM 1500, 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis and 4500/5500 Cab Chassis trucks.

This bulletin applies to 2016-2018 RAM 1500, 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis and 4500/5500 Cab Chassis trucks. Potential issues include: the engine does not crank when the start-stop button is pressed; after starting the engine, the engine revs up or stops; the engine will not shut off after the start/stop button is depressed; or no “Key Not Detected” message is displayed in the instrument cluster and the engine does not start and the ignition does not go into accessory mode after pressing the start/stop button.

Using a scan tool, first verify that all systems are functioning as intended and repair as needed. Replace the keyless ignition node. In TechCONNECT, refer to Service info>08 – Electrical/8E – Electronic Control Modules/Module, Keyless Ignition Node/Removal/Installation.
