Be sure to install a new filler plug washer after inspecting fluid level.

Exploded view of the rear differential. The new solenoid valves must feature new O-rings. Torque the valve bolts to 12 Nm (9 ft-lb).
This bulletin applies to 2019-2021 Acura RDX vehicles. The AWD indicator may illuminate, accompanied by DTC C1843-62 (left rear differential fluid pressure deviation) and/or DTC C1844-62 (right rear differential fluid deviation). This indicates that there is likely internal corrosion in the solenoids.

Each solenoid valve features a protective cover. While reinstalling, torque the cover bolts to 12 Nm (9ft-lb).
Check the rear differential fluid level. If OK, replace both rear differential solenoid valves. Right side valves are available as P/N 48350-5YP-013. Left side is P/N 48360-5YP-013. A new filler plug washer (20mm) is P/N 94109-20000. If fluid is needed, Acura recommends all-wheel drive fluid DPSF, under P/N 08200-9007A.

Be sure to clean the area around each solenoid valve before removing the old valves. The image on the left shows dirt/contaminants adjacent to the valve. At the right is the same valve with the area cleaned. This is important to prevent debris from entering the differential and/or the new solenoid valve.
1. Raise the vehicle and check differential fluid level, which should be level with the filler plug hole. If fluid is OK, install a new filler plug sealing washer and torque the filler plug to 47 Nm (35 ft-lb).
2. If fluid is low, add to the proper level and install a new washer and torque the filler plug.
3. Clear DTCs and test drive the vehicle. If the AWD light does not illuminate, you’re done.
4. If the AWD light comes on with either of the afore-mentioned DTCs, replace the left and right differential solenoid valves. Remove the solenoid covers. Before removing the solenoids, clean the surrounding areas to prevent contamination from entering the differential and/or the new solenoids.
5. Install the new solenoid valves and torque the mounting bolts to 12 Nm (9 ft-lb). Be sure to lube each valve’s O-ring using the all-wheel-drive fluid before installing the new valves.
