Extending Ford evaporator tube

Some 2020-2021 Ford Transit vehicles may experience a pop/sizzle/crack noise from the exhaust. This may be due to water dripping onto the exhaust from the evaporator drain tube.

Some 2020-2021 Ford Transit vehicles may experience a pop/sizzle/crack noise from the exhaust. This may be due to water dripping onto the exhaust from the evaporator drain tube.

To correct the condition, extend the length of the evaporator tube. Use locally obtained vinyl tubing (1/2-inch inside diameter, and two inches long). You’ll also need black Motorcraft Seam Sealer P/N TA-2-B.

Apply a thin cat of seam sealer to the inside of one end of the vinyl tube. Install the vinyl tube from the top side of the vehicle to the evaporator drain tube. Use a set of pliers to extend the reach if necessary.
