This bulletin applies to 2021-2023 RAM 2500, 3500, 4500/5500 trucks built on and after Jan. 1, 2021, and on and before March 31, 2023, equipped with four-wheel drive. A ratcheting or clicking noise may be heard while turning. The cause may be an improperly machined front driveshaft.
Start the engine. With the 4WD system in 2WD mode and in a safe area, drive the truck between one to five mph while turning the steering wheel between ¼ turn and full lock. If the noise is evident, then place the system into 4WD high mode. Again drive between one to five mph while turning the steering wheel between ¼ turn and full lock. If the noise persists, replace the front driveshaft using new driveshaft bolts.
