Correctly diagnosing Jaguar E-Pace

This bulletin applies to Jaguar E-Pace vehicles. JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) is experiencing a higher warranty cost than expected for high-voltage junction boxes (HVJBs) due to incorrect diagnosis.

This bulletin applies to Jaguar E-Pace vehicles. JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) is experiencing a higher warranty cost than expected for high-voltage junction boxes (HVJBs) due to incorrect diagnosis.

A customer may report that the HV battery will not charge when the charging cable is connected to the vehicle. During diagnosis, DTCs U019B-87 may be stored in the PCM and U0064-87 may be stored in the BECM (battery energy control module). The cause is software or electrical wiring continuity.

Refer to the relevant TOPix workshop manual for further guidance. Repair any damaged wiring as necessary before continuing.

Disconnect the 12V start-up battery's positive and negative leads for 10 minutes and then reconnect.

Check the integrity of the HVJB box fuse. Make sure that the BCCM and BECM are at the latest software levels.
