An improved bevel box design was used starting in vehicle production as of March 26th, 2021. If the bevel box leak is confirmed to be from between the case halves, remove the bevel box per ElsaPro instructions. Clean the exterior of the bevel box of any leaked gear oil using a residue-free cleaner. Remove old sealant from the exterior of the bevel box in the area where new exterior sealant will be applied. A razor or scraper can be used to remove old sealant from the surfaces. Apply silicone sealant D 174 003 M2 to the area. Also remove the two bolts and apply silicone sealant at the two bolt hole locations. Allow the sealant to cure for at least two hours and reassemble.
