Owners of 2013-2020 Mitsubishi Outlander, 2013-2018 Outlander PHEV, 2014-2020 Outlander Sport/RVR or 2018-2020 Eclipse Cross vehicles may report a rattle noise heard from the heat protector of the exhaust manifold.
When replacing the heat protector, torque the bolts/nuts to 12-25 Nm.
Owners of 2013-2020 Mitsubishi Outlander, 2013-2018 Outlander PHEV, 2014-2020 Outlander Sport/RVR or 2018-2020 Eclipse Cross vehicles may report a rattle noise heard from the heat protector of the exhaust manifold. Water containing anti-icing agents may splash onto the heat protector and cause corrosion, which can result in a rattling noise.
To correct the issue, the existing exhaust manifold may be reused. Replace the heat protector shield. Refer to the vehicle VIN to select the correct replacement heat shield.
