In Focus: Guardair Mac Vac

June 4, 2012
Pneumatic-powered vacuum saves floor space by mounting to any vertical surface.

The Guardair Mac Vac, No. MV2000, cleans debris, metal chips, dirt, dust, and even finer materials such as powders or talc, with the high-efficiency power of a pneumatic vacuum. This vacuum system saves floor space by compactly mounting on any machine, pole, wall or vertical surface, and reduces overall plant noise, by operating quietly at just 86 dBA.

Features and benefits

Users can vacuum in wet or dry applications. This system features a liquid shut-off and drum drain. Runs entirely off compressed air, which translates to:

  • Low maintenance.
  • No moving parts to wear.
  • No electrical motor to burn out.
  • No sparking.
  • No power cords.

Origin

The idea of the Mac Vac came from user demand. There was a gap between the handheld gun vacs and drum-mounted pneumatic vacuums that sit on the floor.

The Mac Vac features a 5.5-gallon container, and has the ability to mount on any vertical service. Having this product provides manufacturers with efficiency in space and effectiveness in use. Providing a unit that is compact and easily mountable up off the floor is ideal in an operation where workspace is limited.

Utilizing air guns for every application simply blows the debris up and out, but it is the vacuum that is able capture and contain it. This in itself provides a safer and more effective working environment, reducing injuries and any operational hazard costs.
