This customized 2015 Freightliner MT55 features engaging product displays and a unique entrance layout.

Distributor name: Tim Lyons

Affiliation: Mac Tools

Location: Renton, Wash.

Featured in the August 2015 issue of Professional Distributor, Mac Tools distributor Tim Lyons has since upgraded his truck to a 20’ 2015 Freightliner MT55, with a 6.7L diesel Cummins ISB engine.

With an additional 2’ of length, this 20’ Freightliner features ample LED lighting and wood shelving for a warm and inviting look.

“I thought with the bigger truck I’d have more room,” Lyons says. “I think the fact that I have more room and more product, and it’s something new, I’m getting a lot more customer traffic.”

With Lyons' updated truck layout, his goal was to group different like-minded products and categories together, for two reasons: to assist with not bumping into other customers browsing the truck, and to allow customers an easier means of finding tools on the truck.

In particular, Lyons updated a number of areas on the truck, including customized storage for gloves at the front of the truck, a separate cordless power tools display and an air tools display, complete with a compressed air line on the truck for demos.
