Partnership with Medco

Velasco shares reasons he likes working with the warehouse distributor

Independent distributor Alfredo Velasco, who established The Right Tool LLC, has been working with the warehouse distributor Medco to establish a buying group for other independent distributors.

Based in Modesto, Calif., Velasco says he likes working with Medco because of the company’s responsiveness.

“If I call them right now, they’ll answer,” he adds.

In addition, if there’s ever an issue with flyer printouts, the company is quick to provide updates.

“If they have a typo – here’s what I love about Medco – they’ll automatically reprint the page, and they’ll send it to you instantly," he says. "There’s no waiting. They had a typo in this one, and there’s your new one. They’re on top of it.”

One of the main reasons Velasco works with Medco is their product offering.

“They’re diverse," he says. "They always show what’s new.”

Velasco appreciates the products available through Medco, particularly to service his collision shop base. He also says many distributors aren’t focusing on this market.

“It’s an epidemic, I think," Velasco says. "There’s only one guy that goes around and sells that lower grade chemicals to clean with."

“What I like about Medco, they have the high line stuff for guys that actually know what they’re doing,” says Velasco. “Some of these shops are just in and out, they want production. But there are some guys that do auto detailing, that actually want quality.”
