The design is ideal for use when installing harmonic balancers in the tight confines of modern-day engine compartments.

The Cal-Van Ford EcoBoost Long Reach Balancer Installer, No. 38710, is designed to install harmonic balancers of Ford EcoBoost and various other Ford/Lincoln engines from 2011 to 2018. The tool is ideal for use in tight spaces, especially on FWD vehicles. A spacer is included to fit into pulleys and limit interference. The tool can be used on 2.7L, 3.0L, 3.3L, and 5.0L engines in Ford/Lincoln cars, trucks, and SUVs.

Application

The Ford EcoBoost Long Reach Balancer Installer is used for the installation of the harmonic balancer in Ford and Lincoln cars, trucks, and SUVs with engines: 2.7L, 3.0L, 3.3L, and 5.0L (32 valve) in the model years 2011-2018. Applications vary by model year.

Features and benefits

  • This product installs the harmonic balancer onto the crankshaft of Ford and Lincoln engines, including EcoBoost series engines.
  • Completing the installation the right way the first time, saves time and eliminates unwanted potential component damage, says the company.
  • No more knuckle busters, the spacer cup brings the screw head out further than traditional tools, making it less likely to slip when tightening during installation.

Selling points

  • Design is ideal for use when installing harmonic balancers in the tight confines of modern-day engine compartments.
  • Easy access to the center screw head with the spacer cup creates less slippage when tightening.
  • The nut and bearing assembly create a friction-free tightening, ensuring the perfect fit.

Origin

This product was designed to solve the problem of properly installing the harmonic balancer. Traditional methods of installation often used make-shift tools which did not align the balancer to the crankshaft. This could lead to damage to the crankshaft or harmonic balancer.

Manufacturing/engineering specifications

This product is made in Taiwan, weighs only 1.25 lbs, and is constructed of high strength steel. It also includes a durable, U.S. sourced bearing.

The Ford EcoBoost Long Reach Balancer Installer comes with one unit in a compact, fully labeled box. It is best placed near any other balancer installation tool.
