Coming in 2025...

Nov. 21, 2024
New year, new articles – let’s talk what’s new in 2025.

Is anyone else just as floored as I am that it’s almost 2025? It seems like it wasn’t that long ago our team was getting ready for all the tool shows in February, and now we’re preparing to do the same all over again. Twenty-twenty-four has been a wonderful year, but honestly, I’m ready to move on so we can share the exciting updates that we have in store for Professional Distributor next year.

Time for a refresh

Every year, we reevaluate the articles and product sections to ensure our content is best serving you. In 2025, we’ll have some new articles while saying goodbye to a few as well.

First up, this issue contains the last Go Sell Something article from Alan Sipe. Sipe has been an amazing part of the PD team for many years, but it’s time for him to put his pen down and enjoy his time with family and friends. In place of Go Sell Something, we’ll be introducing a new article series, Tool Dealer 101, written by Brian Falhgren. Falhgren is a recently retired distributor with a vault of knowledge he’s looking forward to sharing with all of you.

Next, we’ll be adding a tool truck-centric article, The Truck Stop. This will cover everything from cleaning and maintenance to layout considerations, customizations, and more.

And lastly, we’ll be adding a Pro Tips column featuring tips and tricks from all of you on how to best run your business.

Thank you!

Before I wrap up my final editor’s note for 2024, I want to make sure you all know how grateful our team is to you. Thank you for chatting with us at shows, sending us emails about the articles we’ve written, letting us know that, “Hey, I know that guy!” on our Facebook posts, sharing your stories with us so that we can share them with this community, offering us advice and guidance on how to keep improving PD, and welcoming us into this impressive and resilient industry.

We know the long hours you work; we see the extra miles you put in for your customers; we understand the frustrations of dealing with problems outside of your control as a small business owner; and we watch as you keep moving forward anyway.

Here’s to all of you and the herculean effort you put into making 2024 the best year yet – the same effort I know you’ll put in to make 2025 even better. Happy New Year from the PD team. Cheers!
