Donations sought for silent auction July 30 in La Vergne, Tenn.

Matt Sledge, an independent mobile distributor based in Murfreesboro, Tenn., has organized a silent auction benefit on Tuesday, July 30 for one of his customers whose wife is battling cancer. Sledge will auction up to $500 worth of his own tools for the benefit and is hoping for donations from tool and equipment companies to raise funds for the benefit.

Lunch will be served prior to the silent auction at KMH Systems Inc., 181 Industrial Blvd. in La Vergne, Tenn. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The customer whose wife has been diagnosed with cancer is a technician at KMH Systems, which services fork lifts.

“This is really important to me,” Sledge said of the benefit he is organizing. “I have known this gentleman for years, and I want to do whatever I can to help him in this time of need.”

Sledge said he hopes to serve 400 people lunch. Lunch will cost attendees $10, with proceeds benefitting the customer.

Sledge noted that O’Reilly Auto Parts in La Vergne, Tenn. has agreed to cover the costs of the tents, preparation equipment and food.

In the meantime, Sledge is passing out fliers about the fundraiser to all of his customers.

Companies interested in donating silent auction prizes can contact Sledge at 615-596-7012; email: [email protected].
