The Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) is piloting a new scorecard service for capturing and reporting on key industry data and trends.
“We have recently piloted a new TMC Scorecard Service that will allow participants to see how their service and maintenance data compares to similar companies based on type and size of fleet, industry/SIC code, cargo type, and other parameters,” said Carl Kirk, vice president of maintenance, information technology and logistics at American Trucking Associations (ATA). “This new service is one more way TMC is providing additional value to its membership.”
A technical council of ATA, the largest national trade association for the trucking industry, TMC is North America’s premier technical society for truck equipment technology and maintenance professionals.
The TMC Scorecard Service is supported by a relationship with Decisiv, a leading provider of Service Relationship Management platforms for fleet maintenance.
“The new TMC Scorecard Service goes beyond simple yardsticks, which show only generic industry data based on surveys,” said David H. Tobey, Ph.D. of Decisiv. “The scorecards can be used measure specific aspects of a fleet’s operation against its own performance and that of other companies or groups, as well as industry averages.
“This type of service, which has been used successfully in other industries, will deliver value beyond typical surveys for truck fleets in many market segments.”
Once launched, fleets signing up for the subscription-based TMC Scorecard Service will be sent questionnaires every four to eight weeks throughout the year.
The TMC Scorecard Service will be introduced during TMC’s 2014 Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition, to be held March 10 to 13 in Nashville, Tenn.
