Michelin to offer consistent quality fleet maintenance through approved service providers

Michelin Americas Truck Tires  announced Michelin Truck Care, a national network of mechanical service providers for trucks with dedicated fleet maintenance managers and technicians, along with standardized services that are audited by Michelin.  Michelin Truck Care includes mobile maintenance visits, consistent nationwide pricing, an integrated fleet maintenance system and the assurance of high quality parts.  Launching this March, the new service provides fleet managers the tools to expertly manage their maintenance, control costs and be assured the job will be done properly.  It allows managers to spend less time gathering data and more time making decisions.

“Today’s demanding fleet operations require high-quality, consistent mechanical and tire service, whether at home or on the road.  Michelin Truck Care is designed to meet these needs by delivering nationwide mechanical service that fleets can trust through an integrated network of providers,” said Vic Koelsch, chief operating officer, Michelin Americas Truck Tires division. “In fact, Michelin Truck Care will interface directly with the fleet’s asset management system, eliminating paper while improving managerial confidence.”

Maintenance is completed through a national network of service centers that are backed by the strategic Michelin Commercial Service Network. Over 100 Truck Care service locations will be available by the end of the year. Michelintruck.com/truckcare has a current list of participating service locations, which currently includes: Colony Tire, Raben Tire, Snider Fleet Solutions, Service Tire Truck Centers, Shrader Tire & Oil, Tire Centers Inc., Valley Tire and Ziegler Tire.  The service centers are run by experienced fleet maintenance managers and technicians that follow ATA’s Technology & Maintenance Council recommended practices.

In addition to the network of service centers, mobile maintenance is offered.  Customers can receive the following services through either option:
•    Preventative maintenance (PM) for tractors and trailers to include oil, lube and filter service
•    D.O.T. annual inspections
•    Electrical repair, including lights, charging and starting
•    Brake adjustments, repair and replacement
•    Wheel-end work to include seals and bearings
•    Suspension repair and replacement
•    Mud flaps
•    Minor body repair to trailers and other service repairs
•    Reefer PM services

The procedures and services are audited by Michelin to ensure standardized quality throughout the network and consistent parts and labor pricing (using  standard repair times and vehicle maintenance reporting standards coding).  A national warranty backs all parts and labor.

Powered by TMW, the Truck Care integrated systems can manage the fleet’s data for them or feed the data automatically to their maintenance databases, regardless of the fleet’s software.  Fleet management can confidently outsource its maintenance work and eliminate the need for re-entering data.   The TMW system also interfaces with Michelin's national account billing system, so fleets receive the same prices nationwide.  The system allows access to repairs, complete maintenance records and billing 24/7.  In addition, fleet dashboard analytics provide up-to-date maintenance visibility and historical analysis.

“Truck Care sets a new standard for nationwide, outsourced fleet maintenance programs, providing online fleet dashboards and digital data exchange for service activities and history. TMW Systems is proud to partner with Michelin in deploying our cloud-based fleet maintenance management technology as the information and operations platform powering Michelin Truck Care,” stated Michael August, senior vice president and general manager, TMW Asset Maintenance Software and TMW Cloud Services.
