OPUS IVS announced the results of its online study about the strategic adoption of diagnostic solutions and their effect on profitability. The report offers promising results for shop owners interested in reducing their shop's issues with insurance reimbursement and technician shortages.
The study indicates that insurance reimbursement-related challenges are one of the most frequently faced issues in shops, affecting 33 percent of repair orders on average. The study also reports that over 70 percent of shops face a shortage of one or more technicians thanks to an aging workforce, insufficient training and education programs, and changing skill requirements and standards. According to the report, selecting the appropriate diagnostic solution partner can greatly reduce the number of these issues that technicians have to address.
“As vehicles become increasingly complex, collision repair shops continue to face unprecedented challenges in delivering timely and high-quality repairs, and these results tell us that the right diagnostic solution not only can help streamline the repair process, but also address critical issues such as insurance reimbursement challenges and technician shortages,” said Brian Herron, president and CEO of Opus IVS. “Our study underscores the transformative potential of diagnostic solutions and we remain committed in driving efficiency gains and ensuring the long-term viability of collision repair shops.”
